TECHNICAL CARACTERISTICS of the Oxygenator by PE
In accordance with the application , to get good Transfer Coefficient for the Oxygen and the Ozone we have chosen to apply our helier 4” structured packing – helier 4” – hsp 4″ – – and the helier 12” structured packing – helier 12” – hsp 12″ – which have the following properties :
– High Specific Area (ASPEC = m2/m3 )
– Very Low Specific Pressure Drops (Delta P = mm H2O/m )
– NO ENGULFING VELOCITY no engulfing
see the experimental data reported in the helier Book whose values were obtained through the experimental research carried out at the University of Pisa , by the Equipe, under the coordination of Prof Nardini, Prof Paglianti and Dott.ssa Brunazzi.
The helier 4” structured packing is assembled to build a column of different height , such as :
► with 7 ELEMENTS h = 0.8 m (Commercial Code = OXY 4” – 7EL)
► with 5 ELEMENTS h = 0.6 m (Commercial Code = OXY 4” – 5EL)
► with 4 ELEMENTS h = 0.5 m (Commercial Code = OXY 4” – 4EL)
The helier 12” structured packing is assembled so to build a column of different height , such as :
► with 7 ELEMENTS h = 2.1 m (Commercial Code = OXY 12” – 7EL)
► with 5 ELEMENTS h = 1.8 m (Commercial Code = OXY 12” – 5EL)
► with 4 ELEMENTS h = 1.5 m (Commercial Code = OXY 12” – 4EL)

Oxygen Transfer: the OXY and the Fermentation Process
The OXY – Oxygenator by PE Static Diffuser has been created , thought , designed and built to be installed inside the Fermenters with the precise aim to supply the Oxygen Required by the Fermentation Process :
– Optimizing the Transfer Process
– Minimizing the Reactor’s Stop-Time for Maintenance
– Cutting the Contamination from the Mechanical Moving Parts
– Up-grading and Getting Uniform the Fluid Mixing inside the Reactor
– Cutting the Cost of the Oxygenation Operation / Step
On the basis of the Technical Specifications given by the Client and/or the Plant Operator , information such as :
– Internal dimensions
– net available height
– liquid depth of the Broth / Culture Liquid
– available internal diameter
– operating conditions, in terms of Temperature (T in °C) and Pressure (P in bar )
– quantity of Oxygen to be Transferred
– request a velocity for Oxygen Transfer
The Design Procedure foresees to choose :
► the Type of the Equipment to be Used (4 ELEMENT – 5 ELEMENT – 7 ELEMENT Diffuser )
► the Number of Equipment to be Installed (Nº of OXYGENATOR)
► the Disposition inside the Reactor (Nº of RAWS)
► the proper Geometry to Distribute the Equipment inside the Fermenter (Distribution Geometry)
so to :
► comply with the Technical Specification of the Client
► Optimize the Fermentation Process.
The best performance by the OXY – Oxygenator by PE Static Diffuser and the optimization of its use in the Fermentation Processes are achieved when the Oxygenator by PE is combined with a Proper Bio-Chemical Fermenter , porposely designed for .
Ozone Transfer : the OXY and the Water Disinfection
The OXY – Oxygenator by PE Static Diffuser has been thought and designed for the Ozone Transfer inside the :
– Hydric basins
– Water Tanks
– Post-Depuration Basins of the Waste Water Treatment Plant
– Post-Aeration Channels of the Waste Water Treatment Plant
– Channels with Fluid Laminar Flow
where it is necessary to :
> Disinfect the Water
> Sanitize the Water
> get Potable Water
so that the final water can be used by human beings and/or by the animals of the animal breeding .
On the basis of the Technical Specifications supplied by the Water Client and/or the Plant Operator , process engineering parameters such as :
– Internal dimensions of the Basin / Channel / Water Pipe of the Municipal Water System
– Water depth
– Working conditions, in terms of Temperature (T in °C) and Pressure (P in bar )
– quantity of Ozone to be Transferred

In accordance with the usual requirements of the Process to transfer oxygen and/or Ozone , the Oxygenator by PE Static Diffuser is built with Proper Materials .
For the above Application the following MATERIALS have been chosen :
– Structural Part = SS AISI 316 L
– Structured Packing = from HDPP to PPS
Hereby we report the Equipment Data Sheet of the Static Diffuser we design , build and supply . The Main TECHNICAL PROPERTIES are reported .
Oxygenator by PE : an “ad Hoc” Design
Either in the case of Oxygen Transfer for the Fermentation Process and in the case of Ozone Transfer for the Water Purification , for each Client Application we study and design the best solution to :
– comply with the Technical Specification received by the Client
– optimize the Process Step
for which we choose the most suitable OXY – Oxygenator by PE .
